Carbine Studios' sci-fi MMO Wildstar will be switching over to the free to play model, announced publisher NCSoft. They didn't reveal the date, but it should happen sometime this Fall.
Once the game goes free to play, everyone will be able to explore the world fully, play in all of the game's dungeons, raids, PVP and other modes, and level up their characters to 50. If the players decide to continue paying the monthly membership, they'll get experience point boosts, in-game currency and crafting rewards. An in-game store will also be included where players can buy items using NCoins. These items will be cosmetic only and will have no effect on character stats and progression. Also, there will be equivalent items for the players who choose to earn them in game instead of paying.
A trailer for the F2P version has also been released, so check it out below.
