I only played the demo of Siren but I can honestly say that is by far one of the scariest games I've played - it might even be up there as THE scariest.

playing FEAR 2 in the beginning when I was at that penthouse or whatever and I was by the pool. Things started getting weird and I was looking at the pool water and the windows with the skyline. All of a sudden I turned around and Alma was right there looking at me. I literally yelped in real life and in the game moved backwards and fell into the pool which triggered an event.

It was like the designers created this moment knowing exactly what players would do.

If you're fully immersing yourself, I'll give the nod to Amnesia. The sense of dread was incredibly intense… I couldn't play for more than an hour at a time. Dead Space is second place for me, same kind of feelings but you stood a little bit of a chance thanks to your engineering tools. The deaths were pretty specular and gruesome too!

I remember being about 12-13 and my "tough" friend came over and we started a new game and I'll never forget how he jumped when the dogs came through the windows near the beginning of resident evil

The first game I ever remember that really scared me was Splatter House 3 on Sega Genesis. I remember playing 1 or 2 levels and not going back to it until 2 or 3 years later. If I played it, it would always be with someone else in the room. The story really took me in.

Playing Resident Evil 2. Oh man, I remember getting it on Playstation back in the latter 90s when Dual Shock first came out. I remember walking Leon down that hall when all those crows busted out the windows and that controller went berserk. It made me jump! lol.

FEAR freaked me out expecially when you would be walking down the hall and out of nowhere a window would shatter
