Xbox 360 Version of The Witcher 2 Delayed
Developers CD Projekt RED have delayed that the launch of Xbox 360 version of The Witcher 2 till 2012.
Some bad news for console players today. The Xbox 360 version of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings won't be released this year as it was expected. Instead, the game's launch has been postponed to the first half of 2012.
The reason for the delay isn't some problem with the development, but a publishing dispute that started when the developers CD Projekt RED announced they'll be switching publishers from Namco to THQ for the console version.
On the upside, the longer development will give more time for added improvements and optimization.
"The extra time will allow us to polish the title to perfection, so that the game offers an ideally balanced, fantastic experience to gamers," said CD Projekt RED boss Adam Kicinski.
"As the launch of the game approaches, we will be sharing more details how it will be released on Xbox 360. I trust that despite the release date shift, players will be satisfied with what we are planning for them," concluded Kicinski.
The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings launched in May on the PC to criticall and public accalaim.
