EA has released a video that details some of the simulation features of the GlassBox engine that will power the recently announced SimCity.

The video shows how the animations and other visual details aren't there just to look nice; instead, they always represent what the game is actually simulating in the background. Players will be able to see the movement and use of all resources and other agents in-game. Note that the graphics shown are mostly placeholder items, as the video is here to show off simulation rules.

SimCity is expected to launch during 2013.
