More Details on Single Player
People at Playstation Blog sat down with Sucker Punch Senior Game Designer Karl Deckard. They got their hands on DualShock 3 try try out new single player levels.
“Forced Conduits”
Mission based on 2nd island of New Marais sends Cole on a search for a blast core – and more power – somewhere in the warehouse district. Bad for Cole, Blast Core is in another warehouse!
After that player from Playstation blog finds him fighting against ice-imbued bad guys with frosty shields that resist all of his electrical attacks. On the hunt for the core he runs into more frozen foes.
After that Cole Enters 3rd warehouse where enemies seal him in a place filled with gas. Cole had to destroy the wall so the gas streams out throught it. He proceeds where he gets attacked by the huge ice boss.
“Demons”
The demo opens with Cole searching for an “old man,” presumably Bertrand, in the remains of a crashed helicopter. Instead, he finds a 10-story-tall hard-shelled Behemoth that’d be at home at the Cloverfield family reunion.
Shooting over the shoulder and running away from it, Cole gets in panic situation where he needs to avoid cars and spiting acids throwed by creature. To make things harder, beast calls for reinforcements, in the form of crawling larvae and a horde of man-sized mutants. At this moment, The New Marais’ townsfolk start to help Cole shooting beast with RPGs and other weapons they have at hand. Cole gets pulled by beast and discovers one of his new powers. He did beat the beast and won the day, but there is alot of more adventure in his path ahead.
