According to a report GamesIndustry.biz sources, the relationship between Rockstar and Team Bondi, the developers of L.A. Noire, has deteriorated to the point that they won't be cooperating on Bondi's next game.

The publisher Rockstar is not satisfied with the working practices at Team Bondi, specifically the long crunch time periods, extended development cycles and mistreatment of workers. This relates to the recent accusations of mismanagement by ex-Team Bondi Staffers against studio founder Brendan McNamara.

"Team Bondi are trying to find another publisher for their next title, but the relationship with Rockstar has been badly damaged," an inside source told GI.biz.

"Brendan [McNamara] treats L.A. Noire like a success due to his vision but I think Rockstar are the ones who saved the project. They continued to sink money into LA Noire, and their marketing was fantastic. Without their continued support, Team Bondi would have gone under several years ago."

Rockstar became L.A. Noire's publisher in 2006, after Team Bondi's exclusive publishing deal with Sony had failed.

"Rockstar also made a huge contribution to the development; their producers were increasingly influential over the last two years of the game's development, and overruled many of the insane decisions made by Team Bondi management," explained the insider.

The report also states that in the past Rockstar had planned to turn Team Bondi into Rockstar's Sydney subdivision, but gave up on the idea after bad experiences with the studio's management.

Hope they find a good publisher like Rockstar! coz the game fits the genre of several Rockstar games and it is good to be publish by Rockstar.
