TERA Online: Kaiator
Preview of one of the three grand cities featured in the upcoming MMO title: TERA Online.
The Exiled Realm of Arborea, also known as TERA Online, is a MMORPG that is currently in development. It will run on Unreal 3 Engine and will take the classical approach to MMORPG gameplay - quests, crafting, pvp, fantasy setting, etc.
In this article we will introduce you with Kaiator, one of the great cities in TERA Online. It is a grand city with rich and violent history, and a home to the Amani. Amani are the reptilian race that were serving as slaves for the mighty giants, the barakas, for a millennia. Giants enslaved them via powerful magic and used them as foot soldiers for their countless wars. The Amani were powerless against the might of the possession magic, but were eventually unshackled with the aid of Lok and his deva artists.

When the Amani gained their long-sought freedom, they took bloody revenge upon their captors, eventually driving them off. Amidst the war-torn continent of Northern Shara, the great city of Kaiator was raised as a testament to the new-found Amani strength. It stands as a monument and a warning that the Amani are never to be enslaved again. The city was named after the goddess Kaia, and the architecture reflects the strength and indomitability of the entire Amani culture.

The recent history of Kaiator is again plagued by war. Ever since the beginning of Argon Invasion, the city of Kaiator was on the front lines, holding as a granite rock against the waves of Argon war machine. The Argon Invasion began in the Northern Shara, and even though it caught its people off-guard, the proud city was breached only once. The Breach, as it was named, was the big battle inside the city itself. The Argons used their underground drills to penetrate the city defenses and strike against its population. Since most of the regular soldiers were at the outer walls, the defence was taken up by students and their instructors, as well as the local populace. To make things worse, the Argons used their machinery to inject the city with poisonous gasses, but the valiant recruits used their bodies and worker's tools to prevent the vents from spewing deadly vapors on to the streets. This concentrated effort repelled the invaders and saved the city; it represents the essence and spirit of the Amani race in its entirety: loyalty, bravery and iron will.

Today, the city serves as a giant barracks in the war effort against the Argon. The streets are swarming with soldiers, Amani and otherwise, that are either going to the front lines or returning from them. Even with all the war turmoil, the Kaiator houses many merchants and artists that smooth the rough edges of the city, making it truly the capital of the Northern Shara.
We will present you with more info about the magical world of TERA in the coming days.
