Dota 2 Breaks 1 Million Concurrent Players Barrier

February 16, 2015 2

Everyone knows that Dota 2 is by far the most played thing on Steam, but it still keeps breaking records. This weekend, over one million gamers were playing Dota 2 at the same time. The number of concurrent users on Steam peaks at around 8.5 million, which means that Steam owes a huge chunk of its player base to Dota 2.

In second place, and far, far behind in player numbers, is Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, with around 433,000 peak concurrent players. This current influx of Dota 2 players is caused by the New Bloom update that premiered last week.

Still, Dota 2 has a long way to go to compete with League of Legends. According to Riot Games, LoL's concurrent players record stands at 7.5 million, with 27 million players logging in daily.

Dota2 Is much much more fun than Lol

i've played them both and got into them for too long

dota2 is much easier to learn cuz its totally free, but in gameplay its a little bit harder than lol

lol is also a great game with it's mastery and runes makes leveling up not very useless like dota2
also it hasn't the most important three things in the gameplay
1_ Boring Soundtrack ( your gonna sleep in teamfights )
2_ Self communication ( you have to join TeamSpeak or Skype to communicate with your friends unlike Dota2 )

3_ the graphic is totally a joke
